When did your baby's personality start showing?

Our daughter is almost 4 months and I swear she's starting to show some real personality. She laughs at certain things, gets mad when she's hungry, grabs at my face. My buddy said his kid didn't really show personality until way later so now I'm wondering if I'm just projecting or if this is real. When did you guys notice your kids actually acting like little people instead of just eating and sleeping machines?

The laughing part is so good. Our twins started doing this around that age and I remember just sitting there watching them discover what laughing even was. You're in for a ride with the personality stuff.

Four months is right when things get wild! Our daughter started doing this little laugh and smiling at us around that time and it completely changed how I felt about parenting. Suddenly it felt less like survival mode and more like actually getting to know this tiny person.
