When did your baby sleep through the night

Our 4 month old is still waking up 2-3 times a night and I'm dying. I know 4 months is still early but I'm seeing other parents with babies around the same age sleeping 6-8 hour stretches. Is there something we're doing wrong? Should we be sleep training? I feel like I'm failing because my kid isn't sleeping. Help.
