When did your baby smile at you on purpose?

My boy is 8 weeks and the smiles are starting. Made eye contact with him this morning and he absolutely grinned at me. Wife says it's just gas but I know better. This feeling is insane, like nothing else matters right now. Do these moments get better or worse as they get older?

Dude yes, we're right there with you. Our 3-month-old just started doing this and it's honestly the best thing ever. Those real smiles hit different than the gas ones, you'll know it when you see it.

That's the real stuff right there man. At 8 weeks you're definitely seeing the intentional smiles start. Your wife might be messing with you a little, but trust your gut on that eye contact moment.

The gas excuse is the best excuse moms use haha. But real talk, 8 weeks is right in the window where those real smiles start showing up. Cherish that moment, it's the good stuff right there.
