When did your baby start smiling socially?

Just got my first real smile from my 6-week-old today and it absolutely wrecked me. I know the baby books say it happens around 6-8 weeks but I wasn't expecting to feel this emotional about it. My older son started smiling earlier but I was too tired to appreciate it. With this one I'm actually noticing everything. Feels different this time around.

Six weeks and you're already getting smiles? That's awesome. Ours didn't really do the social smiling thing until closer to 8 weeks but that gummy grin is all the motivation you need on the hard days.

That first real smile is something else, right? Congrats man. It's wild how that one moment changes something in you. Definitely take a picture or video of the next one because you'll want to remember this feeling.

Best feeling in the world. I remember when my daughter did this for the first time, my wife and I just looked at each other like we couldn't believe it. Your kid is a person and it just hits different after that.
