When do they start smiling and actually recognizing you?
My daughter is 3 weeks old and honestly I love her but right now she just looks at me like I'm a warm potato. My wife keeps saying she smiled but I think it's gas. When does the actual bonding start happening where they look at you and you know they know who you are? I want her to recognize me as her dad not just the guy who changes diapers.
Three weeks and you're already thinking about recognition? Dude, that warhead stare is peak newborn. Around 6 weeks you'll start seeing actual smiles and it gets real fast.
