Everyone kept telling me I'd be overwhelmed with love the second my baby was born but honestly the first week I was just stressed and tired and feeling kind of numb. Now hes 6 weeks old and this morning he smiled at me for the first time on purpose and something just broke open in my chest. I had to step away and cry for a minute. When did you guys really feel that connection hit you hard?

It took me a few weeks honestly. First it was just survival mode and then one day I'm watching him sleep and it just hit different. You'll get there.
With twins here and I'm still waiting for that moment tbh. I think it hits different for everyone and that's completely normal. You're a good parent regardless of when or how the feeling comes.
