Genuine question - is this normal or did we get a bad batch? Just switched to Similac Pro Advance and the powder smells OFF. Not sour exactly but musty? Wife says I'm being paranoid but it def smells different from what we had before (Enfamil).
Pro Advance is one of the better ones out there. The smell is just the formula composition. You get used to it pretty quick. If your baby tolerates it well that's really what matters.
I'd call the manufacturer's number on the package just to be sure. They can tell you if that batch is normal or if something went wrong. Better to check than worry about it.
We use Similac Pro Advance too and yeah it definitely has that kind of smell. My pediatrician said it's the whey and other ingredients breaking down. As long as baby is taking it fine you're good.

That's actually normal for formula. It has a slightly sour smell sometimes, especially when it's been sitting in the container for a bit. Just make sure the powder itself looks uniform and not clumpy. If it smells rotten that's different.
