My 3-month-old went 5 days without pooping last week and I was freaking out reading WebMD articles at 2am. Then he exploded EVERYWHERE - blowout that went up his back somehow??? Now he's pooping 3-4 times a day. The pediatrician says it's all normal but like... how am I supposed to know what normal even is? Do other peoples' kids have more consistent schedules or is this just the chaos?

Pro tip: once they hit 4-5 months the patterns actually settle down. the randomness is mainly a 0-3 month thing. there's light at the end of the tunnel

The 5-day thing used to terrify me too. Turns out breast fed babies can just go longer sometimes and it's fine. Once he started solids the frequency leveled out
