Our daughter is 5 months old and my wife got a job offer for next month. Logically I know we could use the money and it's good for her career but I'm honestly scared about childcare and if I can handle her while working from home. My wife keeps saying I'll figure it out but man the pressure is real. Any of you guys doing the childcare thing while working? How did you make it work?
This is such a mixed bag of emotions and I totally get why you're nervous. Logically it makes sense but the idea of not being the one at home with her during the day is another thing. Have you guys talked through what that actually looks like yet?
You feeling nervous is completely valid even if logically it works. This is a big change and your brain is right to want to process it before jumping in.
My wife went back when our youngest was 4 months and honestly it was fine. The nervousness I felt beforehand was way bigger than the actual adjustment. And seeing her get back to her career made her happier which made everything better.

Five months in the baby is on more of a schedule which actually helps. You can get into a groove with daycare or whatever childcare you choose. The real question is how do you feel about it? Because that matters more than whether it's 'logical'.
