Wife is struggling with breastfeeding

She's been crying about the pain and says the latch feels wrong. We've got an appointment with a lactation consultant but that's not for 3 days. Anything I can do to help her feel better in the meantime? Really want to support her through this but I feel pretty helpless.

Twin dad here so we lived this pain. Have her try some lanolin or hydrogel pads between feedings. And honestly, just being there for her like you are helps more than you know.

We went through this with our second and it was tough. In the meantime, ibuprofen really helped her manage the pain. Hang in there, three days isn't far away.

Those first days are rough. Make sure she's trying different positions and maybe some warm compresses before feeding. The lactation consultant will be huge though.
