Anyone doing the camping thing with young kids?

Thinking about taking the family camping for the first time. We have a 4yo and 6yo so nothing crazy, just a state park maybe 30 minutes away with a cabin or at least bathrooms nearby. Dont want to go full tent situation yet. Any advice on what to bring or what I'm forgetting? Also how much do I need to worry about bears or is that overkill?
