Anyone else do weekend cooking projects with their kids?

My wife suggested we pick a new recipe every Saturday and make it as a family. Last week we did homemade pasta from scratch and I was shocked at how into it my kids got. 6yo daughter kneaded dough for like 20 mins straight, oldest son was learning about ratios and measurements. This coming weekend we're doing pizza. It's messy as hell but feels way more valuable than usual weekend activities. Who else is doing this?
