Anyone else's camping trips just become chaos?

Went camping with the family this weekend and forgot like half our stuff. No sleeping bags, only brought hot dog buns no hot dogs, and my daughter's backpack had nothing in it but her stuffed animals. Somehow we still had a great time though? Slept in the car mostly, made some decent campfire meals with what we had, kids were laughing the whole time. I think I'm learning that these trips don't have to be perfect. Anyone else embrace the chaos or am I just bad at planning?
