Anyone else's camping trips just turn into dad cooking competition?
We go camping to relax right? Wrong. Every trip with the buddies turns into who can make the best campfire meal. Last weekend I did a cast iron skillet breakfast with bacon, eggs, hash browns and fresh biscuits. Derek brought his whole spice rack and made some kind of chicken situation. Nobody slept much because we were all arguing about cooking techniques until midnight. The kids didn't even care, they just wanted hot dogs. But honestly those meals hit different outside. Anyone got favorite camp recipes?
Cast iron skillet is the way to go! I bring mine on every trip and my kids actually get excited about camping meals now. The competition part keeps it fun, honestly beats just reheating frozen stuff.
