Anyone else's camping trips never go as planned?
Took the family camping last weekend at a state park about 45 mins away. Weather report said clear skies all weekend. We get there Friday evening and by Saturday morning it's pouring rain. Our tent held up but the kids were bored out of their minds in the RV. We ended up just playing board games and making s'mores inside. Not the trip I planned but honestly the kids had fun and we were all together. Sometimes the mess ups make the best memories I guess.
We've done camping at 12 different national parks and I can tell you the weather report is basically fiction. Our advice: bring extra clothes, don't overplan the activities, and let the kids get bored sometimes. That's when the real fun happens.
