So my wife asked me to 'tidy up the garden' yesterday and I got completely sucked in. Started trimming hedges, ended up renting a power aerator for the lawn, pulled weeds for like 3 hours straight. My back is killing me today but the yard looks incredible. Worth it? Probably. Will I be able to walk normally tomorrow? Doubtful. But hey at least I didn't spend money on going out somewhere right?
Power aerator rabbit hole is real, man. My three kids actually think watching the lawn get aerated is exciting, so I guess I'm locked in for yard work Saturdays now.
Ha, that's the classic "quick task" trap. I rented one of those aerators last spring and suddenly lost half my Saturday. At least your lawn's gonna look amazing though, right?

Every single time. Started with one small thing and suddenly I'm out there at 7pm still going strong. Wife just rolls her eyes now when I say 'quick cleanup'.

I did something similar last month with our little one watching from the porch. Started with just pulling some weeds and next thing I know I'm out there for hours. At least they get to see dad getting stuff done, I guess?
