Got bit by the woodfired pizza bug after going to this place near my house. Started researching DIY pizza ovens and now I'm actually thinking about building one in the backyard. Saw some kits online but also some crazy elaborate builds people do from scratch with bricks and everything. Is this a realistic weekend project or am I getting in over my head? What's the cheapest way to start?

Be prepared for this to become your whole personality for the next few months and honestly that's fine. It's a legit hobby once you get it built.
Nice project. Fair warning though, once you build one of these your weekends get taken over by friends and family wanting to come over for pizza night. Not complaining, just saying have the dough recipe ready.
