Attempted to make croissants from scratch, what a disaster

Saw a TikTok about homemade croissants and thought how hard could it be right? Spent all Saturday making laminated dough, my kitchen looked like a war zone, and they came out looking like lumpy rocks. My kids laughed at me. Wife made store bought ones for Sunday breakfast. Worth the learning experience I guess but man.

Haha the classic TikTok trap. I did the same thing with sourdough last year and my kitchen looked like a crime scene. Did you at least get something edible out of it or total loss?

Croissants are genuinely one of the hardest things to make though so don't feel too bad. The laminating process alone requires patience that most of us dads don't have. What went wrong first, the butter or the folding?
