Rain is supposed to last all weekend and I've got my 3yo and 6yo stuck inside. Want to do something besides screens but don't want to go crazy with supplies. What do you all do? We've done painting but that requires like an hour of prep and cleanup. Looking for something simpler that won't require me to buy a ton of stuff or drive to a store.
Cardboard box forts honestly buy you like 3 hours easy. Tape, markers, maybe some blankets. They'll be entertained longer than with actual art projects.
Kinetic sand is actually goated for rainy weekends and costs like $10. Buy a few colors and let them go nuts. Minimal mess compared to actual paint.
Window markers are legitimately the best budget hack. They wash off, kids love it, and it's basically just painting without the anxiety of ruining something permanent. Got mine at dollar tree.
Playdough but make it homemade? Flour, salt, water, food coloring. Super cheap and they can literally just squish it for hours. Bonus: the 3yo is less likely to destroy it than with paint.

Sticker scenes + coloring books if you want them focused. I know that sounds lazy but sometimes getting through a rainy weekend without losing your mind IS the win.
