Best camping spot in North Carolina mountains

Taking the boys camping this weekend. We usually hit up Linville Gorge area but trying somewhere new this year. Anyone have recommendations that are good for kids ages 5 and 7? Looking for something with decent hiking but not too intense. Want them to actually enjoy it and ask to go again.

Make those camping trips count while they want to go with you. I get the boys every other weekend and we always throw a tent trip in there when we can.

Linville Gorge is solid but if you want something different, Hanging Rock State Park is killer and less crowded. My kids loved it when we went last year.

Linville Gorge is solid but have you checked out Looking Glass Rock area? Different vibe and great for camping with kids.

Grayson Highlands is underrated if you want something different. Less crowded than the usual spots and the views are killer.
