My 6yo wants to try soccer. I know nothing about soccer. We're in the Denver metro area. Looking for something low-key, not super competitive since he's just starting. Any recs? How much does it usually cost for fall season?
Littleton Youth Soccer is another solid option if you're on that side of Denver. My daughter did three seasons with them and the parent volunteers are actually helpful.
Started my kid in fall soccer when she was 6 and she loved it. Best advice is to show up early so she can warm up and get comfortable. Some kids get nervous their first practice.
Fair warning - some of the coaches in the Denver metro are way too intense about little kids soccer. Make sure you find a league that keeps it fun. Ask around about specific coaches before signing up.
Check out local parks and rec leagues first before club soccer. Less pressure, better for kids just learning, and way cheaper. My son did rec for two years before we went anywhere else.
Get him some cheap shin guards and cleats but don't go crazy. He'll outgrow them in six months anyway. Used Facebook marketplace for ours.

Denver Youth Soccer Association is the big one. They have fall and spring seasons with tons of beginner divisions. Sign up happens early so don't wait. My 6yo just did their first season.
