Building a playset in the backyard - tips appreciated

Just ordered one of those big wooden playsets for the kids and it comes in about a million pieces. Has anyone built one of these before? I'm planning to do it over a long weekend. Should I rent some kind of power tools or is a regular drill and saw enough? Also any advice on leveling the ground first? Don't want the thing to be wobbly. Planning to tackle this in about 3 weeks when the weather clears up.

A million pieces is an understatement. I built one of those last summer. Pro tip: lay out all the pieces first and organize them by size and type. Makes it way less confusing. And get a power drill for the bolts, your wrist will thank you.

YouTube is your friend here. Find the exact model and watch someone else do it first. Saves you from doing things backwards halfway through.

Just finished one of these a couple months ago. Seriously consider asking a friend to come help - makes it way faster and less frustrating. Plus my buddies actually had fun doing it somehow.

Do not try to do this alone in one day. I'm serious. Break it into sections over a couple weekends. Less frustration, more time to actually spend with the kids testing it out as you go. Plus they'll be more excited about something they watched come together.

Those playsets take forever to build. I did one last spring and it was like a full weekend project. Budget way more time than their estimate and grab a power drill if you don't have one already. Makes the bolts so much easier.

Are you going to have help or solo this? Because solo is rough but it's totally doable. Just pace yourself and don't try to finish it all in one day or you'll hate your life by evening.

Get yourself some good music or a podcast for assembly day. Makes the hours go by faster. Also pro tip: lay all the pieces out first and organize them. Saves you running around looking for that one bolt.
