Building a raised bed garden this Saturday

Got the wood and supplies all lined up. Planning to do a 4x8 bed for vegetables. My dad's gonna swing by and help which is nice because I could use someone to hold stuff while I drill. Thinking tomatoes, peppers, maybe some lettuce. Wife has been talking about wanting fresh veggies so hopefully this makes her happy. Anyone have tips for first time gardening beds?
