Building a treehouse with the boys this summer

Just picked up supplies yesterday. Got some 2x6s, plywood, and a bunch of hardware. Planning to build it in the big oak in our backyard over the next few weekends. Kids are losing their minds thinking about it. Anyone have experience with this? Want to make sure it's actually safe and stable. Thinking we'll use some proper tree support brackets instead of nailing into the trunk.
