Building raised garden beds with the boys

Decided to build some garden beds this spring and make it a project with my kids. Hit up the hardware store, grabbed some untreated wood and soil, and spent Saturday afternoon putting them together. My 7yo was my assistant and he was so proud helping dad. Now we're planting tomatoes and lettuce and he checks on them like every day. Way better than him staring at a screen and honestly pretty cheap to get started.

Love this. With four kids I'm always looking for projects that keep everyone engaged and this is perfect. The hardware store trip alone is half the fun with kids.

This sounds amazing, man. Getting them hands-on with building something they'll see grow all season is such a cool move. My daughter's only 3 but I'm already thinking about stuff like this.

This is the kind of weekend mission that matters. My kids helped me build some planters last year and they were so proud. Plus they actually watered them and took care of them because they built it. Hardware store trips with the kids are underrated.

Love this approach. My 5 year old is finally at the age where she can actually help with something like this and not just mess it up. Did you let the kids hammer anything or did you keep them on tool duty?
