Built a pizza oven in my backyard - here's what I learned
The Good:
- My 10yo loves helping me make pizzas
- Weekend dinners are way more fun now
- Somehow makes pizza taste better
The Bad:
- Way more expensive than I budgeted ($800 total)
- Took 6 weeks of weekends to build
- My brick work looks... not professional
The Ugly:
- First pizza I made was a burnt disaster
- Neighbor's fence is slightly charred
Would I do it again? Yeah probably. Is it worth it? Still deciding. Anyone else have a pizza oven they regret?
Did you budget the full cost upfront or did it creep up on you as you went? Asking because I'm thinking about doing this and want to know what to actually expect to spend
The 'Somehow makes pizza taste better' part is just facts though. Even store-bought pizza tastes better when you made it together in a backyard oven. That's not a bug, that's a feature
