Built a raised garden bed with the kids this weekend

Got some lumber, screws, and soil and we made a 4x8 raised bed in the backyard. My 7 year old actually helped me drill the pilot holes and my 5 year old planted seeds. Such a simple thing but they were so into it and asking a million questions. Now theyre checking on it multiple times a day. Already planning the next one for the other side of the yard. If you haven't done a garden with your kids I highly recommend it.

A 4x8 is the perfect project size. Big enough to feel real but not so massive you're out there all day. What are you planting in it?

This is so cool. Building something with them is the stuff they actually remember. My kids still talk about the deck we built two years ago and I love that it's both a memory AND a thing they use.

Did you let your 7yo use the drill? That's the moment right there. My daughter was terrified of it at first but once she got one in her hands she felt like she built the whole thing herself.
