Built a swing set without the instructions (don't recommend)

So apparently there was a reason the instructions came with like 50 pages. Thought I could eyeball it and save some time lol. Got about halfway through before realizing I'd installed part of the A-frame backwards. Took it all apart, started over, finally got it up. The kids think it's amazing but my wife won't let me live this down. Anyway the whole thing took like 6 hours instead of the promised 3. Lesson learned: just follow the dang instructions.

50 pages seems excessive but honestly those engineers probably accounted for every scenario you could mess up in. Sounds like you found a few of them haha.

The instructions thing is wild because they literally spell out which bolt goes where. I feel like I've been there though where you're like 'nah I got this' and then you definitely didn't got it.

Did you at least get it standing up and functional? I skipped the instructions on a slide one time and we had one leg about an inch shorter than the others. My wife was not pleased.

This is such a dad move and I respect it. Did it at least look somewhat like a swing set when you were done?

Did the kids actually go near it or did your spouse make you redo it properly? Asking for a friend who may have built a lopsided jungle gym.
