Built a treehouse and my kids think I'm a genius now
Spent the last 3 weekends building a simple treehouse in the oak tree in our backyard. Nothing fancy, just wood platform with a railing and a rope ladder. Cost me about 300 bucks in materials and a lot of sore muscles but seeing their faces when they first climbed up was worth every second. They didn't even ask me to help with homework yesterday so clearly this was a good investment in good behavior.
This is the stuff that matters. Nothing fancy but your kids see their dad building something cool with his own hands. That's worth more than any toy. Nicely done.
