Built a treehouse with my 6 year old this weekend
Honestly one of the best weekends I've had as a dad. Got some 2x6s from lowes, borrowed my neighbor's drill, and just went for it. My son picked out the nails and helped me carry stuff. It's not perfect, definitely leans a little to the left, but he thinks it's the coolest thing ever. We spent Sunday morning up there eating cereal and reading books. Planning to add a rope ladder next month if it doesn't fall down first lol
Man, building something with your kid and actually finishing it is huge. The treehouse memories are forever. Did your 6 year old help with the actual building or mostly just supervise and hand you stuff?
That sounds incredible. Those are the moments they actually remember when they're older. I bet he's been in that thing non-stop since you finished it.
