Built a treehouse with my 6yo and it actually didn't collapse

Spent all day Saturday in the backyard with my son building a treehouse in the oak tree. Used some old pallets I had lying around plus 2x6s from the lumber store. Kid was handing me nails the whole time and kept saying 'is it gonna fall dad?' Yes buddy it will if you don't stop jumping on the ladder. Finished around 5pm and it's still standing. Pretty solid for something I basically made up as I went along.

That's awesome! Building stuff with your kids is the best. We did something similar last summer and my son still talks about it. The wobbly part actually added to the fun for him.

How secure did you make the railings? That's the part that would keep me up at night honestly.

Did you build in some safety features or just hope for the best? I'm thinking about doing something like this but my wife is already nervous about injuries.
