Built a treehouse with my 7yo and barely survived
So I promised my son a treehouse last spring and finally got around to it this past weekend. Spent all day Saturday with him helping me nail boards to the oak tree in our backyard. Kid was so proud every time I let him hammer a nail even though he was basically just tapping it lightly. Sunday we added a rope ladder and he immediately wanted to invite the whole neighborhood up there. My wife was not thrilled about the liability but honestly it's pretty solid. Just don't look up at my crooked railing too closely. Took forever but totally worth seeing his face light up.
Props for following through on a spring promise. That's the kind of stuff kids remember forever. How's he doing with it? Is he actually spending time up there or was it just the building it together that mattered?
Building projects with the kids are my favorite weekend thing too. The barely survived part made me laugh because that's always the honest assessment after. Bet he loved helping build it though.
