Built a treehouse with my 7yo and it's actually standing
So I told my son we could build a treehouse and he actually remembered. Spent all last Saturday dragging scrap lumber from my dad's garage and making a platform in the oak tree. Kid was hammering nails (badly) the whole time and talking non-stop about how it'd be his secret hideout. It's not pretty but it's solid and he refuses to come inside. Wife thinks I'm insane for letting him climb up there but honestly best $40 I've spent on a project.
That's seriously cool. I've got four kids so getting one-on-one time like that is gold. The fact that you followed through on what he asked for probably means more than you realize.
