Built a treehouse with my 7yo, we're both losing our minds
Started this thing 3 weeks ago with just some scrap lumber and a general idea. The kid went from "can I help" to basically running the project. He's using the drill, measuring stuff, problem solving when something doesn't fit right. Cost me maybe $200 in supplies and a lot of patience but seeing him up there today in the "finished" version eating a sandwich and saying "I built this" made me tear up a little. Still gotta add railings and weatherproof it but honestly the journey was the whole point.
Getting kids invested in a real project like that is gold. My three love when Sunday pancakes turn into something that lasts longer than breakfast, so treehouse memories will hit different.
