Built a treehouse with my 8yo and it's actually holding up
So I finally got around to that treehouse project and honestly thought it'd be a disaster. Spent last weekend with my son building it in the oak tree in our backyard - used some old pallets, 2x4s, and a ton of YouTube tutorials. Kid was so focused, kept asking why we needed the level and if the nails were "secure enough." It's not fancy but it's solid and he's spent every afternoon up there since. Best $200 I've spent on a project in years. Anyone else do treehouses? Any tips for weatherproofing it for next season?
Building something like this with your kid is such a different vibe than just buying him stuff. He's gonna remember this forever
I want to do this so bad but I'm not confident enough in my own carpentry skills to not mess up. Did you have to make adjustments as you went or did you plan it all out first?
