Built a Treehouse With My Boys This Summer
Started in June, finally finished last week. 12x12 platform about 12 feet up in the old oak. Used mostly reclaimed wood to keep costs down. My 7 and 9 year old helped with every step, learned to use power tools safely, and man watching their faces when we nailed the last board was everything. It's not fancy but it's theirs. They spent the whole weekend up there. Already planning the rope bridge for next summer.
This is the stuff that makes you a great dad, man. Sure you could've hired someone but you did it yourself so they could see what's possible. That's going to stick with them forever. I've been thinking about doing something like this but I'm not sure I have the skills.
