Built a treehouse with my boys this summer

Started in June, finished last weekend. Nothing crazy, just a platform about 8 feet up in the oak tree with some railings. Used mostly scrap wood and 2x4s from a job. The kids helped with every step. Cost me like 200 bucks total. They've barely come down since. Worth every penny and every sore muscle.

That's awesome! We did something similar last summer and my kids still talk about it constantly. The oak tree in your yard is going to be their favorite spot for years. Did you use any safety railings or netting?

8 feet up is the perfect height for that age. High enough to feel like an adventure but not terrifying for parents. How long did the whole project take you?

This is the kind of stuff they'll remember forever. My oldest still talks about helping me build shelves in the garage when he was that age. Props for doing this.
