Built a treehouse with my boys this summer

Started this project with my 8 and 10 year old back in June. Had no idea what I was doing honestly but I found some plans online and we went to it. My wife thought I was crazy but the boys were so excited. Took us about 6 weeks of weekends but we finally finished it last month. Best part is watching them play up there with their friends now. They built something with their own hands and it's solid. Thinking about documenting it better for my younger kids to do later.

This is the kind of project that bonds kids and parents. They learned problem solving, got to be outside, and spent real time with you. Way better than any store bought toy.

Building something with your hands alongside your kids - that's the stuff they'll remember forever. I love that you went in without a plan. Sometimes that's when the best memories happen anyway.

This is so cool. My kids would lose their minds over a treehouse project. How sturdy does it feel? And more importantly, do they actually use it now that it's done or was the building the fun part?

Did you guys mess up a bunch in the process? I'm asking because I started a deck with mine last year and we had some pretty funny mistakes. But honestly those were some of the best dad moments we've had.
