Just finished it last weekend. Took us about 4 months of weekends but we got a legit 8x8 platform built in the oak tree in our backyard. The kids helped with every step and honestly it was way more work than I thought but so worth it. Now they actually want to spend time outside instead of gaming. Best decision ever.
8x8 platform is legit! How high did you go? I'm thinking about doing something similar but I'm worried about safety with two kids who have zero sense of mortality.
This is the kind of memory your boys are going to remember forever. My back still remembers the forts we built but honestly it was worth every ache. Did you do the railing yourself too?
Four months of weekends though - that's commitment. Did you have to deal with any permit stuff or did you just build it on your property? I'm in Arizona and the HOA would probably have something to say about mine.
