Spent Saturday and Sunday building a basic treehouse in the oak tree in our backyard with my 8 and 10 year old. Nothing fancy just some 2x6s nailed to branches and a plywood floor with a rope ladder. The kids helped cut some of the wood and nail things in. They wanted to sleep out there last night but it was pretty cold. Definitely the best weekend Ive had in a while.
Man, that's the kind of weekend that matters. Building something with your hands and your kids? That's what they'll remember. Plus they learn real skills and problem solving. Goals right here.
This is awesome. You just gave your boys a memory they're going to carry forever. That hands-on time doing something real together is worth way more than screen time or store-bought stuff. Well done.
Dude this is so cool. My oldest is almost 8 and this is honestly on my list now. How'd you keep them focused the whole time without them getting bored?
