Built a treehouse with my kids this summer and it turned out awesome

Spent about 6 weekends building a simple treehouse in our backyard oak tree with my 8 and 11 year old. Nothing crazy, just a 8x8 platform, some railings, and a rope ladder. The kids actually helped with most of it instead of just watching. We hit some snags - miscalculated measurements, had to reinforce the frame - but worked through it together. Now it's their favorite spot in the world. Honestly been the best father-son bonding I've had in years.

This is exactly the kind of project I want to do with my kids once they're a bit older. Props for actually seeing it through instead of just talking about it like most of us do.

That's awesome. With three kids and work, I barely have time to think about projects like this, but this makes me want to carve out the time. Your kids are lucky to have a dad who actually builds stuff with them.

That's incredible, man. Six weekends with your kids building something they can actually use and play in? That's the stuff they'll remember forever. My two would be over the moon for a treehouse.
