Built a treehouse with my kids this weekend and it's actually standing
So I had this crazy idea to build a treehouse in the oak tree in our backyard. My 7 year old has been asking for one all summer. Grabbed some 2x8s from Home Depot, some lag bolts, and just went for it. Took all day Saturday and Sunday morning but it's done. It's not fancy but the thing is solid. Kids went up there after I finished and I could see them getting that look like they owned the whole neighborhood. Best $200 I've spent in a while.
That's awesome! My son is only 6 months old so this is like a dream I'm storing away for the future. How'd you figure out the structural stuff? Did you follow plans or just wing it?
