Built a treehouse with my kids this weekend and it was chaos but worth it

So I decided we'd build a treehouse in the oak tree in our backyard. Bought some lumber Friday after work, spent Saturday morning planning it out with the boys. Sunday we got started and man, nothing goes according to plan when you're 15 feet up with two kids who can't agree on which board goes where. My 7yo wanted it to be a pirate ship, my 10yo wanted a lookout tower. We ended up with something that looks like neither but they're calling it their fortress and that's good enough for me. Only real scare was when my oldest dropped the drill, but it fell into the grass. Sore shoulders today but seeing them up there playing together made it totally worth the aches.
