Built a treehouse with my oldest this summer
Been planning this for two years and we finally did it. Spent 6 weekends with my 9 year old, some youtube videos, way too much Home Depot trips, and a lot of me learning on the fly. He was hands on the whole time, learned to use a drill, helped design it, problem solved with me. Best 60 bucks in materials was the rope ladder. The treehouse isn't fancy but we built it together and he's out there every day. Neighbors think I'm nuts for the safety aspect but he's hooked and now he wants to build a second one. This is the stuff that matters.
This is goals right here. I've been thinking about something similar but haven't committed to the time yet. How did your oldest handle working on it over so many weekends without getting bored?
