Campfire cooking gone wrong
Took the kids camping in upstate NY and thought I'd be all outdoorsy and cook everything over the fire. Note to self: foil packet meals sound good in theory but are impossible to cook evenly and my 8yo got cold waiting for dinner to be ready. We ended up eating at like 8:30pm which was a whole thing. Next time I'm bringing a camp stove. Anyone else just accept that camping cooking is hard or am I missing something obvious?
Okay you gotta tell us what happened. Did you burn the food, burn yourself, or something actually catastrophic?
This is why I respect the guys who actually get good at campfire cooking. It looks easy in videos but there's so much technique involved. What were you trying to make when it went south?
