Campfire cooking tips?

Planning a camping trip with the boys this summer and want to do better than just hot dogs and beans. Anyone have good campfire meal ideas that aren't too complicated? Looking for stuff I can prep at home and cook over the fire. Kids are 8 and 10 so nothing too fancy.

Pro tip: bring a grill grate to set over the coals. My kids love helping assemble kabobs and it feels way fancier than hot dogs but honestly just as easy.

Cast iron skillet over the fire is a game changer man. We do foil packet meals with veggies and protein, keeps cleanup minimal which I'm all about after a long day with the toddlers at home.
