Camping fail: never underestimate a 5 year old with no nap

Took the kids camping at Silver Falls last weekend. First time with the youngest (she's 5). Everything was fine until 6pm when she decided she'd had enough and spent the next 4 hours losing her mind in the tent while my wife and I took turns sitting outside like prisoners.

We left at 9am Sunday. Didn't even cook the bacon breakfast we planned.

Anyone else have horror stories? Or tips for keeping a tired kid entertained in a tent without a screen? Asking for a friend (myself).
