Went camping with the kids for the first time since my divorce. Setup at a state park about 2 hours away and everything was going great until my 5yo took off into the woods looking for bugs. Had the worst 20 minutes of my life searching for him. Found him just sitting by a stream like nothing was wrong. Now I'm that dad with a kid on a leash. Anyone else deal with runners?
That's the stuff that sticks with you as a dad. Sounds like you kept your cool when it mattered though. Those are the moments our kids remember.
