Camping trip almost turned into a disaster

Took the family out to Blue Ridge for three days and forgot the damn lantern. Had the tent lit by phone flashlights the whole time which was honestly kind of pathetic. Kids thought it was an adventure though so I guess it worked out. Anyway we're investing in a good LED lantern and I'm making a camping checklist on my phone so I never forget essentials again. Has anyone found a good rechargeable lantern that doesn't cost a fortune?

Phone flashlight camping is rough but honestly it works in a pinch. Blue Ridge is beautiful though, did the kids have fun despite the lighting situation?

I would've forgotten way worse things. At least you had light. I once forgot the stove fuel and we ate cold sandwiches for three days straight.
