Camping trip disaster that turned out amazing

Took the family camping for the first time. Tent flooded Friday night, my wife got food poisoning, forgot to pack half of what we needed. Should have been a complete nightmare. But you know what? The kids didn't care. We fixed the tent situation, moved to dry spot, sat around the fire telling stupid jokes all night. My 5 year old said it was the best weekend ever. Gonna do it again next month, better prepared this time.

Bath time chaos is nothing compared to a flooded tent situation. Honestly those are the trips they talk about for years though. The disaster stories become the family legends.

Dude that's rough but also kind of epic. Camping trips are character builders for sure. The fact that it turned out amazing tells me you kept your head and made it work instead of just leaving. That's what your kids will remember.
